[libreoffice-marketing] Planning ahead: Software Freedom Day is right before the LibreOffice Annual Conference
Hi all, I'm sure you're all getting started on your plans for Document Freedom Day (DFD), as it's just a month away (I'll have more on that later), but I wanted to touch base briefly re Software Freedom Day (SFD). Software Freedom Day is Sep 19th, and our Annual Conference starts on Sep 23rd. For anyone travelling/preparing for the conference, these two events are so close together that it might make it difficult to do everything by yourself. If you can, I suggest talking with your colleagues in Free Software in your local area over the next few months (perhaps at the end of March, after DFD events are done?) and working with them to get stuff prepare ahead of time. In that fashion, you will hopefully be able to avoid a mad scramble come September. My method? I'm adding a reminder to my calendar for April 2nd. That way I can ignore SFD until then. At least it was on twitter and Facebook for the folks. Those subscribed to the mailing lists should know how cool the project is, anyway. ;-) Stefan -- LibreOffice - Die Freiheit nehm' ich mir! -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: marketing+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/marketing/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Two ideas about LibreOffice tips
Hello Zeki, Sophie, Le 25.02.2015 10:44, Sophie a écrit : Hi Zeki, Le 23/02/2015 21:39, Zeki Bildirici a écrit : Hi, 1- Currently we share LibreOffice tips on @libreoffice twitter account on weekly bais with #tipsoftheweek (14 char.) hashtag. For more circulation of the tips and user interaction - user based tips production, i suggest that we could ask users to share their own tips with a unique hashtag #LibreOfficeTips (16 char and its unique - no tweets yet) . With this unique hashtag, we can collect lots of tips from users. I have a script -didn't used it by myself, but i know the guys who wrote them and they will be glad to help us), which collects tweets with particular hashtags, which we can use it to harvest the tweets later. In addition to above, this hashtag on circulation will increase our brand awareness too. Yes indeed. Also we can do it on Google+ which supoorts hashtags too. +1. Let's do that starting tomorrow on Twitter at least! We can start a campaign from @LibreOffice account something like: A) "Your knowledge is valuable, want to share it with others? Start sharing your LibreOffice skills with #LibreOfficeTips hashtag." and B) "Sharing is caring, help us to spread the useful #LibreOfficeTips by retweeting the tweets with #LibreOfficeTips hashtag." I'm not taking care of that, but it's a great idea :) +1 2- Currently we have 286 tips on http://pad.documentfoundation.org/p/marketing . I think it is time to move them wiki and start to translate this life/time/mind saving great content to our local pages. Or what about moving them to Pootle? All the tips should go to the FAQ if it's not already there. What goes on the wiki don't go on Pootle (well, except for the Help which is a different process), it's much more simple to pick an article and translate it straight in the wiki. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq What Sophie wrote :-) Thanks!
