What can I do for LibreOffice (was: Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Minutes from Marketing Conference Call, 18 October 2018)
Hello, Mike Saunders wrote on Thu, 18 Oct 2018 15:32:33 +0200: 1. "What can I do for LibreOffice" site: help people to understand in just a few clicks, how they can contribute. Need to get the design team involved, make it available for translations, build a tree for the information. Code here: https://github.com/jdm/asknot. AIs: Mike to find out about domain, and talk to various sub-projects about questions to use; Redon to work on the first tree map. sounds like things are progressing - thank you very much, Redon, for your generous offer! :-) We do have the domain, Guilhem can connect it to an existing CMS or VM (the former one preferred). I couldn't make it to this month's marketing call, but if there are any questions, feel free to ask anytime. Thanks again! Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Self Introduction
Hi, Here is my advice. Help start a local commercial, for profit, operation capable of selling support and migration services for LibreOffice. Take full advantage of the product LibreOffice, which the shared development has made available, and build on that work to help raise the wealth of those directly involved and general population of Nigeria. Such an organization would create a sustainable organization which could, along with the local benefits, build the ability to offer back to wider LibreOffice community in a serious and significant way. Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Self Introduction
Dear Onyeibo, Welcome to the community. As a lecturer in State University you could do a lot by encouraging the next generations to use the LibreOffice and feel the freedom. It will be great if you could get an idea on how much the LibreOffice is prominent among the youngsters in your State University and why (in both cases if they are using and not using). Moreover, you could encourage a small smart group of students to promote the ideals of LibreOffice. @Mike. Good effort Mike. The map looks beautiful and amazing work. Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Self Introduction
Hi Oyeibo, Welcome to the community! I'm Mike, working in Marketing for TDF, and doing some community outreach to help the project to grow (along with the software itself). Thanks very much for your help with promoting LibreOffice and spreading the word. At the moment I'm working on a map of LibreOffice community members, which links to interviews that I've done: http://newdesign.libreoffice.org/contributor_map.html As you can see, we have some rather large gaps in north America, Africa, parts of Asia etc. So it'd be great to show that we have LibreOffice supporters there. If you have a spare 20 minutes, could I send you a few questions please, to put up a short interview about your involvement with LibreOffice? That would be awesome, but no worries if you're super busy though! Cheers, Mike On 20/10/2018 16:46, Onyeibo Oku wrote: > Greetings everyone, > > I am new to the mailing list.
