I agree to your statement that "LGPL 3 (or later)" is not the license the present LibreOffice product is released under. I don't see these topics to be related at all: The community works on different bugs at the same time. Even if there are more critical errors in the software nobody wants to refrain from correcting minor ones or even typos. Please raise awareness on the appropriate list about your license issue (I'm quite sure it just has been overseen in the past) and let others work on the topics of their interest.
