/Contention/ is dedicated to research on and about social protest and political behavior. The journal advances essential knowledge of a comprehensive range of collective actions, social movements, and other forms of political and social contention. By providing a multidisciplinary forum to scholars within and across the social sciences and humanities, it seeks to promote scholarly exchange and knowledge sharing among them.

Contention welcomes submissions of high quality, theoretical essays, research article with novel findings, critical reviews as well as commentaries aiming at increasing interdisciplinary debate between authors, and book reviews. The Journal aims to present original perspectives and points of view across disciplines and areas of investigation. Because of our interdisciplinary nature, we welcome submissions in any standard format for the first round of review.
