MASS PROTESTS OVER UNPAID WAGES IN DNIPROPETROVSK (UKRAINE) 11 February 2016 more than 300 workers of Dnipropetrovsk Yuzhmash Plant went into the streets for the rally and protest demo against 5-month salary payment delay. Dnipropetrovsk Yuzhmash Plant produces rockets, rocket engines and other equipment. All-Ukrainian trade union Zakhyst Pratsi («Defense of Labour» – www.zahist.wordpress.com ; https://www.facebook.com/zahistpraci ) has organized and leaded the workers action. The leader of trade union Zakhyst Pratsi («Defense of Labour») at Yuzhmash Plant Ievgen Derkach as well as Chairman of All-Ukrainian trade union Zakhyst Pratsi («Defense of Labour») Oleg Vernyk and coordinator of All-Ukrainian trade union Zakhyst Pratsi («Defense of Labour») Andrii Ishchenko have spoken at protest rally. Workers were geared very flatly. Police succeeded to prevent the blocking of central street of Dnipropetrovsk city by protesting workers with much ado. Threatened by the working movement and activity of independent trade union, Yuzhmash plant employers have begun to pay the salary debts as early as 12 February 2016 – just next day after the protest rally. But they’ve covered only 1-month salary debt. Defense of Labour trade union and workers of Dnipropetrovsk Yuzhmash Plant are preparing to continuation of their struggle.
