Yesterday's quarterly profit announcements prompted the three Times articles below about the big platform capitalists' increasing centrality to system profitability. For instance: "These deals illustrate what Mr. Nadella has called <https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/necessity-tech-intensity-todays-digital-world-satya-nadella/>an increase in the “tech intensity” of companies as they evolve. “Digital technology today is not about tech companies doing innovation. It is about the rest of the world doing innovation with technology,” Mr. Nadella said in a call with analysts on Wednesday." In the past I've mentioned the continuing centrality of GE et al. to manufacturing and to the system as a whole. The focus of Microsoft, Amazon et al. on business services is a parallel phenomenon.
