I found this one to get me into that holiday mood!

http://www.historicist.com/newton/p1c4.htm

I beheld, saith Daniel, till the Beast was slain, and his body
destroyed, and given to the burning flames. As concerning the rest of
the Beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were
prolonged for a season and a time. And therefore all the four Beasts
are still alive, though the dominion of the three first be taken away.
The nations of Chaldea and Assyria are still the first Beast. Those of
Media and Persia are still the second Beast. Those of Macedon, Greece
and Thrace, Asia minor, Syria and Egypt, are still the third. And
those of Europe, on this side Greece, are still the fourth. Seeing
therefore the body of the third Beast is confined to the nations on
this side the river Euphrates, and the body of the fourth Beast is
confined to the nations on this side Greece; we are to look for all
the four heads of the third Beast, among the nations on this side of
the river Euphrates; and for all the eleven horns of the fourth Beast,
among the nations on this side of Greece. And therefore, at the
breaking of the Greek empire into four kingdoms of the Greeks, we
include no part of the Chaldeans, Medes and Persians in those
kingdoms, because they belonged to the bodies of the two first Beasts.
Nor do we reckon the Greek empire seated at Constantinople, among the
horns of the fourth Beast, because it belonged to the body of the
third.

In terms of his achievements, he most definately was.

In terms of his personality and character,
he was not so great. In fact he was often
downright mean and nasty

I put the word out myself at the stroke of midnight. You'd be surprised
how many people appreciate it.

If we try hard enough, we might even supplant Festivus.

I wonder what Newton thought of having to share his birthday with Hanukkah.

It's nice to know there are alternatives. Back in Buffalo we used to greet
one another: "Merry Fucking Fuckmas!"

But Newton still has a better claim to December 25 than
that other guy in ancient Judea, who (if he existed at
all) was almost certainly not born on December 25,
if we follow the descriptions of the circumstances
of his birth as described in the New Testament.

A-fucking-men!
But:
Born: 4 Jan 1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England
Died: 31 March 1727 in London, England
Isaac Newton was born in the manor house of Woolsthorpe, near Grantham in
Lincolnshire. Although by the calendar in use at the time of his birth he
was born on Christmas Day 1642, we give the date of 4 January 1643 in this
biography which is the "corrected" Gregorian calendar date bringing it into
line with our present calendar. (The Gregorian calendar was not adopted in
England until 1752.)
