An article from the latest NLR that is not behind a paywall. Daly once wrote an article titled provocatively "A Marxian-Malthusian view of poverty and development". I am no Daly expert but his theory of steady-state economics is a challenge to the productivism of Living Marxism of 20 years ago. For some Marxists, the idea of population control amounts to genocide. You can only make such a statement if you ignore the objective limits on planetary sustainability.
