So now a new furor has broken out over the House Intelligence Committee breaking precedent and releasing its “Nunes Memo”. Is this just a tempest in a teapot, or is it the tip of the iceberg?" Basically, the release of this memo is another step in Trump's drive to seize personal control over the main institutions of the US government, to rule "by fiat" as one article said about him. That's the meaning of all the talk about "our democracy" being at risk. It means another step away from capitalist (or "bourgeois") democracy and towards bonapartism.
