Let's be honest, this article is awful. The writer isn't much better than the Zionist psychopath who complained that she was "triggered" by calling Fulbright Israel a Zionist propaganda visit. For those of you who don't know the lingo, "triggered" is the word that pseudo-leftists on college campuses use to criticize virtually any language that they believe will "trigger" some kind of psychological episode. It was originally just used in specific contexts dealing with survivors of trauma, but now it has been expanded to virtually anywhere so that chauvinists, racists, and right-wing bile, including Zionists, can claim that any criticism they don't like is abusive and thereby attack dissidents. But note how the writer of the article basically validated the underlying criticism, as though it is wrong to call a Fulbright trip "Zionist" because there are supposedly left-wing Zionist groups. As we've seen on this list-serv from people like Sheldon Ranz, "left-wing" Zionism is a contradiction. It is an attempt to square Palestinian rights with the racist ideology that underpins their expulsion, and effectively amounts to whitewashing their oppression and the institutions responsible. It's also irrelevant to the issue of whether the trip is Zionist. Amith R.
