there are strong ties between Russian communists and the ANC and the CP of
South Africa.
Incidentally the article does not claim that the Soviet Union liberated South
Africa.

By Russian communists here, could you perhaps be meaning people from that
former party of Khrushchov and Brezhnev? It seems you are. But that surely
must be a case of mistaken identity, since there could hardly be, I think, a
single actual communist left in that party which was taken completely
