Wareham FD - 460.2375 R Onset FD - 453.025 R Wareham EMS - 482.70 R each apparently has their own dispatcher 24/7 Wareham PD is the PSAP Town of Wareham population is 25,000 in winter and 50,000 in summer I would be willing to bet that PD HQ has 3 people inside 24/7 - 2 dispatchers and 1 desk officer ---------------------------------- If you combined all the dispatch centers, and had just 1 person in the PD HQ 24/7 - then you would have 5 more people to put on the street 24/7 - you would double the onduty cop street force probably - and if you used seasonal cops, you could put 10 more cops on the street 24/7 in the summer (6 months actually) The Onset FD is approx 1 mile from Wareham Sta 2 and 1 mile from Bourne Sta 1 - they apparently just have 1 FT dispatcher on duty - and he does not leave the station - he just pages out the volunteers to roll the rigs - twice this morning he put out pages for vols to staff R1 to go to medical calls - and the EMS beat them to the scene both times I think (because apparently EMS has 1 or 2 ambs staffed 24/7) If you combined fire and EMS you could probably staff all 5 of the stations in Wareham 24/7 (maybe the 2 outlying stations would have just 1 man on duty) I guess if a 5% save rate is good enough - then there is no need to change anything -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
