Middlesex County Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian applauded a call for partnerships between correctional facilities and health centers. He noted that 80 percent of inmates at the Middlesex House of Correction and Jail report suffering from addiction. “Continuity of health care isn’t just a public health issue — it’s a matter of public safety,” Koutoujian said in a statement.
