long article - does not say too much - longer shifts are bad but
everyone loves them - most EMS work 2 jobs - maye 12 and 14 hour
shifts are possibly the best

for Big City EMS - I suspect that most can catch sleep from 2 AM to 5
AM - but it would probably be better to do 8 hour shifts and put in
study time from 2 AM to 5 AM when callload is low - maybe just single
people should work from 1 AM to 5 AM - put in a couple of years - save
some money - then move to the suburbs where life is perfect
