Group Forms Educators For Better Business

Teachers and other educators across the state of Massachusetts announced
today the formation of Educators for Better Business (EBB). This group of
advocates is disheartened by the lack of quality products and services
coming out of the Commonwealth's businesses. Twenty percent of
businesses in the state fail each year, sending employees scrambling for
new job or unemployment and sending customers away without help. EBB
hopes to be able to work with legislators and business leaders to turn
around this failing institution. The group first plans on gathering hard
data on the failings of businesses across the state from surveys of
costumers and businesses' own reports to stockholders and to state and
federal officials. EBB will then work with the state legislature to
legislate changes in how businesses operate, from purchasing to hiring
practices, from manufacturing processes to marketing, from salaries and
benefits to product development.

"We are very excited about being to help our businesses move into the 21st
Century," said EBB co-founder Steve Mather. "We expect to help
businesses compete in marketplace, hire our highly-qualified high school
and college graduates, and service our communities better," he added.
These educators seem to know more than one would think about running a
business. "We know how to run a business - we shop all the time, our
family members shop and our students shop," said EBB co-founder Phil
Beatrice.
