FYI,
I was just looking through the package list for the newly released RHEL 6.
matplotlib version 0.99.1.2 has been included, along with numpy 1.3 and
python 2.6.5. I did not see scipy and ipython, however.
Congrats for fiinally getting included in RHEL!
