Hi,
I'm running a Ubuntu 9.04 32bit on my laptop, and I believe that I
have successfully built and installed matplotlib 0.98.6 from svn.
The problem: when I try to import functions from pylab using the
Python teminal I get the following error:

"/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/matplotlib-0.98.6svn-py2.6-linux-i686.egg/pylab.py",

from matplotlib.pylab import *
ImportError: No module named pylab

Thing is, I do NOT get this error from 'ipython' when I run "ipython
-pylab", and a version check on matplotlib from ipython shows that it
had been successfully upgraded to 0.98.6svn
Any ideas why do I get the import error?
