I would like a copy of matplotlib that is compatible with python 2.3. I
searched all over the net and it is really difficult to find anything. Does
anyone still have a copy? I believe it's version 0.87.3 or before.

Unfortunately, the current version of matplotlib requires Python 2.4 or
later. You may be able to grab an older version from the archives on
SourceForge, however, presuming you don't need any of matplotlib's
recent features or bugfixes.
