well, that still doesn't explain the segfaults. NaNs shouldn't cause
matplotlib to crash upon saving. I would still be interested in a
stacktrace.

I am running a script that cranks out multiple plots in a loop. The script
has plt.show() as the very last line as I think you are supposed to do.
All plots show up, but I get a seg fault (sometimes a bus error - I haven't
figured why it occasionally does that) when I close the last plot

I committed a slightly tighter version of this that uses a rectangle
based on the size of the image plus a border to accomodate the exact
marker size. Probably makes very little difference, but I suppose if
there was a dense field of markers outside of view, this might speed

I'm trying to make a simple errorbar plot which gets saved to an EPS file. I
paste the code below. For some weird reason, the savefig line causes a
segmentation fault in ghostscript. when I use (in this case, on my computer)

Can you provide a standalone script that causes the segfault so we can

It could be that you just have to much data for the stack. You can see/set
your stack size with ulimit -s (on linux/solaris at least). Try to set it to
unlimited:
ulimit -s unlimited
This has solved similar problems for me in the past.

I am experiencing a problem recently on my Mac OsX.
When I try to import mathplotlib.mathtext or pylab I received a

It wasn't like that before, and I recently update my matplotlib and
