You can run them in a thread and have them yield time to keep progress bar

Thanks Christian.
I did that, and it works very well ... on Macintosh!
But on Windows, I'm still getting either a crash without any message
(the app quits), or this error message:
Instruction at 0x001c1a70 uses the memory address 0x01bc.
The memory can't be in status

It seems like something (maybe a file or a folder, its size or its name,
or any other property) leads to the crash.
After some tests, it's definitely related to the name of a folder (or
its entire path).
It's not a character in the name, as I
As a final test, I tried to duplicate the folders that lead to the issue.
After duplication, the duplicate folder does not issue the error, the
original does!
After duplicating all concerned folders and deleting originals, all
works well!

Nevertheless, it still freezes when calculating size of volumes, but not
systematically.
I suspect something related to memory management, buffer or

Thanks a lot, Arnaud.
So:
- Windows 7 - crashes with big folders and volumes
- XP SP3 (emulation under Win 7) - no crash with folders, some freezes
with volumes,
- XP SP2 - no crash even with volume.
I need to test Win 7 on another machine.
