Head of Collections Information and Access
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art seeks a museum professional to manage the department of Collections Information and Access (CIA). This position requires working collaboratively with Senior Staff and the other departments of the Museum and supervising the daily operations of the department. This position is responsible for the collections information programs including intellectual property, imaging, the collections management database, and the slide library, and it provides oversight for technology planning related to collections information systems. In addition, the Head of CIA manages imaging, intellectual property, and usage rights in support of the overall goal of providing access to information about the Museum’s collections.
Must have: knowledge of collections information systems and experience with intellectual property and imaging issues as they apply in a contemporary art museum, an educational background in art history or closely related field, with a B.A. or advanced degree required. Requires a minimum of five years experience in a museum (or similar institution) including administration, supervisory, and planning and budgeting experience.
