***ARCS Resources and News*** ARCS hopes everyone is safe and healthy in their homes. We wanted to pass along a few resources to help us all stay connected during these challenging times.
~Conference Videos~ The ARCS Board decided to make conference recordings available to everyone for the next few weeks. These resources, which are usually only available to active members, can be accessed using the links below. -2019 Conference Videos and Presentations http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/2019-conference/presentations-and-recordings -2017 Conference Videos and Presentations http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/2017-vancouver-conference/presentations-and-audio-recordings -2015 Conference Audio Recordings and Presentations http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/2015-conference/presentations-and-audio-recordings ~ARCS Conference Facebook Watch Parties~ If you have a Facebook account, visit the ARCS Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/arcs4all/) at 1pm ET each Wednesday and join us for an #ARCS 2019 Conference Session Watch Party. Meetings are being done remotely via Zoom and Skype, social distancing keeps us six feet apart from everyone, and our collections have been left at our institutions unattended. How can we ensure that our collections remain safe while we also protect ourselves during this global pandemic? https://aaslh.org/fsa-tips-collections-care-covid/ ~#regsistrarsathome~ Are you on Twitter or Instagram? Follow ARCS @arcs4all and use the hashtag #registrarsathome to show off pictures of your workspace! Pictures of co-workers (kids, animals, and roommates) are encouraged! ***#ARCSChat April 7*** You know all those environmental standards we’ve been holding on to so tightly in our loan contracts? Yeah, well, they are wrong. Join #ARCSChat for episode two of our two-part series on loan contracts. Guests Joel Taylor, Senior Project Specialist at the Getty Conservation Institute, and Caitlin Spangler-Bickell, Graduate Intern at the Getty Conservation Institute and PhD candidate with the research network NACCA (New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art), will join hosts John Robinette (@CargaLatina), Robin Bauer Kilgo (@rbkilgo), and Amanda Robinson (@ARobKabob) to report their ongoing research and explain why we should let go of this notion. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbWS9tXKHo0fAVrtOHjktJg ***Survey: Vibratory Impacts of Music and Transport on Museum Collections*** Museums and cultural heritage organizations around the world are taking note of the potential impact that vibrations from music can have on their collections. In addition, new questions are being raised about the potential impact of vibrations that objects experience during transport. Scientists around the world involved in the protection of collections are conducting research into these topics. To inform and focus this research, objective information on the real-life experiences and practices of museums and cultural heritage organizations is needed. A questionnaire has been created to collect a body of factual information about the current practices and experiences of institutions globally regarding these two topics. The information collected will be analyzed and distilled by a Task Force and will then be disseminated to the museum community via a published open-access research report. For the benefit of all institutions facing these new questions, the Task Force urges everyone with collection protection responsibilities to take just a few minutes to complete this questionnaire. Even if your practices in these areas are limited and you do not have much to share, your information is still relevant and valuable. https://survey.vovici.com/se/7052282A36226396 ***Important Dates*** -April 7, 2020-#ARCSchat 8pm ET.
