[MCN-L] Podcasting

2006-07-14 Thread Chan, Sebastian
Podacasting - we've started doing this on a more serious basis at the
Powerhouse Museum but the amin issues for us are around resourcing of
their production.

Most of ours are currently event recordings - simple because these are
easiest to do.

Those we have made specifically for exhibitions tours etc have,
interstingly (and somewhat anecdotally), been mainly used offsite - not
for their Museum 'intended' use.

We are a long way from the setup at Redshift (Otario Science Centre) or
others where the production of podcast-able content is part of a
traditional museum eductaion/research staff workflow.

See our blog for some stats from Redshift -

I just had the question raised of the pros and cons of adding
POD casting. Anyone with any feelings or interesting updates?

[MCN-L] defining CMS user access

2006-07-14 Thread psu...@magnes.org
Hi list:

I was wondering how other CMS or database managers organize their user
permissions, especially when setting up a new system. I currently have a
spreadsheet in place, listing the users and the groups and their
editable or read-write permissions for the system (KE EMu), but I have
to say that I haven't organized it very well, so it's proving difficult
to upkeep as changes and new decisions are made.

So if anyone has a particular system they're fond of, please pass it along!

Thanks!
