The iConference organizers are especially keen on receiving submissions
from across the cultural heritage domain and would welcome
museum-oriented work. One can also propose workshops and other
alternative sessions.
The iConference in general is becoming a great venue for
interdisciplinary conversation. This will be the first meeting in Europe.

About the conference theme
The 2014 conference theme ?Breaking Down Walls:
Culture-Context-Computing? suggests that we have to understand how
today?s forms of culture are highly influenced by various forms of
computing (e.g. digital heritage, digital archives, digital knowledge
production, digital everyday life) and how different forms of culture
produce particular forms of computing platforms. For that reason,
critical information issues must be addressed and theorized from a wide
variety of theoretical and analytical approaches coming from the natural
sciences, social sciences and the humanities.
About the iSchools
The iSchools organization is a collection of Information Schools
dedicated to advancing the information field. These schools, colleges,
and departments have been newly created or are evolving from programs
formerly focused on specific tracks such as information technology,
library science, informatics, information science, and more. While each
individual iSchool has its own strengths and specializations, together
they share a fundamental interest in the relationships between
information, people, and technology.
