Vancouver Social Recap
The first ARCS Social in Canada was held Oct. 6, 2016 in Vancouver, BC.
The 13 attendees had a great time, and there was plenty of enthusiasm for
the ARCS conference being held in the city in 2017. The winner of the ARCS
membership was Jenny Wilson, Vancouver Art Gallery.

The t-shirt/apron winner was Chris Kukura from Denbigh Fine Art Services.

Visual Resource Association Survey
In 2015 ARCS helped distribute the Visual Resource Association Professional
Status Survey. The VRA has now released the 2015-2016 Report on

[MCN-L] Registration is open for AMIA/DLF Hack Day November 9 (free!)

Hello,

The Association of Moving Image Archivists  (AMIA)
will host its fourth annual Hack Day in partnership with Digital Library
Federation  (DLF) on Wednesday,
November 9 in Pittsburgh, PA. The event is a unique opportunity for
practitioners and managers of digital audiovisual collections to join with
developers and engineers for an intense day of collaboration to develop
solutions for digital audiovisual preservation and access. It will be fun
and practical, and there will be prizes!

Did we mention it’s free? So if you have ideas about ways to improve your
current workflows, expand or clarify existing documentation, or simply want
to participate in creative problem solving with fellow archivists and
programmers, sign up today. All experience levels from student to seasoned
professional are welcome. We also invite remote participants to join in!
