***ARCSConf 2019 Travel Stipends*** The ARCS Biennial Conference will be held Philadelphia November 7-9, 2019 and we are pleased to provide resources and programs for all persons who work with and support collections through the generous support of Cooke’s Crating & Fine Art Transportation, Inc. and Berkley Asset Protection, Underwriting Managers (a W.R.Berkley Company). Awardees from North or Central America will receive $1,000 each and awardees from other parts of the world will receive $1,500 each. Please note these awards are to defray some costs, but are not intended to cover all the costs associated with attendance at the conference.
In return, the recipient agrees to write a two- page review of a session. The specific session will be mutually agreed upon and coordinated by an Awards Committee member prior to the conference and the report will be due to ARCS by December 1, 2019. Applicants for this fellowship must be current voting members of ARCS in good standing. Selection of the recipients will be based upon demonstrated merit, dedication to their work as registrars or collections specialists, and financial need. To apply for the award, please submit ONE PDF Electronic document containing the following, in this order: 1. A cover letter, explaining specifics of demonstrated merit, dedication, and need; 2. One letter of recommendation, preferably from your current supervisor, if applicable--if not, please explain in cover letter. 3. We are soliciting project proposals for the event, which will take place on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019, prior to the start of the conference. You can have a day of professional assistance for FREE! That's certainly worth taking the time to write up a proposal, right?
