Hi Robin (and others),
We have been working with educational organizations and museums for the
past 15 years to develop online learning resources. Over the past 5 years
we have created many sites using Drupal. We feel it is a great platform for
creating collaborative environments, as well as for sites that require
updating by non-technical staff (so content creators can actually put their
own content online, for example). Here are some examples of sites we have
worked on:
The Virtual Historian (University of Ottawa Dept. of
Education)http://www.virtualhistorian.ca/en
Online lesson plan building and educator community site (subscribed to and
used by school boards for their teachers). Teachers can use the lessons and
adapt them to their own needs using the tool. They can also create new
lessons and share them. Students can sign in to complete assignments that
teachers can grade within the system.

Saskatchewan Archives Board http://www.saskarchives.com/
Main website of the Archives Board - online collectons tools linked to
MINISYS, with exhibits and collections information.

Education Portal http://educationportal.ontla.on.ca/(Legislative Assembly
of Ontario)
This site was developed as a way for the educational staff at the LAO to
showcase the history and architecture of the building, provide information
on their educational programs, and give pre and post visit information and
activities. The site also contains interactives

Hi Sheila,
Actually only two people responded with info about Drupal based online
learning sites. The first person, Phil Wilson is a wealth of information,
not so much about specific sites but about using Drupal to build online
learning communities in general. His site is: http://www.lostartsna.org/.
The other response was more about museum exhibition websites that have
been built with Drupal, and then a thoughtful recommendation to look into
Moodle as an online learning platform - also a good idea.
So, if others know of on-line learning websites that have been built in
drupal, please let all of us know.
Thanks,
Robin
