I want to alert you to a new faculty position in the Museum Studies Program at San Francisco State University. The Master of Arts Program in Museum Studies is seeking an expert in Digital Preservation in Museums to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective August 2014. The successful applicant will possess museum professional experience in all areas of digital preservation in museums and will be knowledgeable about digital media, digital curation, mobile experiences, digitization strategies, and digital asset management. Experience in art museums is preferred. The candidate will also be engaged in critical discourse surrounding digital preservation in museums, will be able to bridge theory and practice, and will have a strong interest in how museums communicate with the public. Ph.D., or equivalent degree preferred, but applicants with distinguished professional experience and a Master?s degree will be considered. University teaching experience preferred. Salary competitive, commensurate with qualifications. Review of applications will begin January 24, 2014.
