*Interactive Project Coordinator, IIT* ** ** *DATE: *October 2012 *REPORTS TO: *Director of Interactive Technologies *OVERVIEW: *The Interactive Project Coordinator, IIT is primarily responsible for providing technical support and gathering assets for interactive and digital marketing projects. The Interactive Projects Coordinator position will work with cross-departmental teams to create appropriate educational and promotional websites and technologies that meet museum goals and objectives for internal and external audiences. *ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* 1. Maintains world-class websites for exhibits and online initiatives. Tasks include content coordination, updates to existing webpages, building new webpages using Drupal or WordPress, updating webpage links, etc. 2. Builds and distributes e-mails to support a variety of monthly and quarterly e-newsletters using ExactTarget tools. E-mail responsibilities include updating and optimizing e-news templates for a variety of platforms, creating automation campaigns and staying abreast of ExactTarget tools and trends. 3. Serves as a project leader for exhibit websites, social media projects and e-mail initiatives, as assigned. 4. Works with a variety of internal resources to gather and distribute image and content assets for interactive technology and digital marketing projects such as exhibit interactives, social media initiatives, e-newsletters, web projects, online games and activities, mobile projects, etc. 5. Provides technical production support for interactive technology and digital marketing projects including image optimization and resizing, content review, creation of e-mail HTML, webpage editing using Drupal CMS, etc. 6. Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging interactive technologies and assists in the integration of new technologies into web sites, as needed. 7. Assists in training other department stakeholders to use Drupal and WordPress CMS. ------------------------------------------------------------ *Web Developer* ** ** *DATE: *September 2012 *REPORTS TO: *Manager of Creative Media Design and Development *OVERVIEW: *The Web Developer is primarily responsible for developing websites and database-driven applications. The Web Developer will collaborate with marketing and creative media team members, as well as other museum staff, to create appropriate educational technologies that meet museum goals and objectives for internal and external audiences.** *ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* 1. Develop and maintain world-class websites for new exhibits and online initiatives at the direction of the Manger of Creative Media and in conjunction with internal teams (such as Information and Interactive Technologies (IIT), exhibition development, family learning, operations and marketing, etc.). 2. Develop, maintain and support web applications for internal and external use in conjunction with internal teams and external vendors. 3. In collaboration with the Data Applications and IIT Administrator, develop, maintain, and support new and existing web applications. 4. Work collaboratively with other museum departments, vendors and consultants to develop, produce and implement projects for museum exhibits, programs and websites. 5. In collaboration with the Creative Media Designer and Developer, research and develop mobile technologies including mobile-optimized websites and applications. 6.
