Colleagues,

Apologizes for any cross-postings. The results from our August 2010
survey on DAM systems and planning are now up at
http://digitalcommons.uconn.edu/libr_pubs/24/. We received some really
thoughtful and helpful material that we had promised to share. Thanks
so much to all who took the time to respond to the survey.

Michael

Subject: Digital Asset Management (DAM) Planning/Implementation Survey

Colleagues,

Apologies for any cross-postings. Here at UConn we are currently in the
process of reviewing the current landscape with regard to overall DAM
system offerings, the services that they provide vs. perceived local
needs, expectations with regard to their implementation, etc . As part
of this local review, we are also interested in getting feedback from
people in the larger cultural heritage community who have perhaps either
travelled this road before us and already have a system in place or who
are similarly in our shoes and have just begun to strategize. With our
own ongoing digital asset creation at UConn, we feel that it is time to
more clearly consider the better overall administrative management of
such broadening content in a more automated and consolidated manner.
Hence we've initiated an initial investigation and online survey that we
invite you to participate in: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HDG9M2Z
(Estimated time to complete: approx. 15-20 minutes)

The survey will remain open until August 31, 2010. We will post results
via a report uploaded to our institutional repository,
http://digitalcommons.uconn.edu/. Please note that in our report,
personal information from the survey will not be revealed, and any
comments used will remain unattributed. Feel free to forward the survey
link to other relevant constituencies.

Thank you,

Michael
