Dear MCN community, My name is Caine Chennatt from Perth, Australia, based at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery - a university art gallery at the University of Western Australia. My role is within creating access, inclusion, and digital programs. I am also interested arts for social change projects at large.
I was fortunate to receive a Churchill Fellowship for work in this area, which enables me to investigate best practice approaches in these areas and I will be travelling to the U.S for this, with the hope to bring back learnings to Western Australia. I am also interested in the systems approach - how arts institutions embed accessibility principles at the heart of the organisation. If you are involved in any of these areas, I would be so grateful for the opportunity to meet with you briefly and have a chat. I have organised a few meetings already with the help of some very generous people in the access space, thus I do apologise for any cross-postings! I will be in: 1. San Francisco (30 Jul - 3 Aug); 2. Los Angeles (3-5 Aug); 3. Austin for VSA LEAD Conference (5 Aug - 12 Aug); 4. New York (13 - 14 Aug); 5. Washington (15 - 16 Aug); 6. New York (17 - 20 Aug); 7. Winnipeg, Canada (21 -22 Aug); 8. Montreal, Canada (23 - 24 Aug); 9. Boston (25 - 26 Aug); 10. London, UK (29 - 31 Aug). 11. Machester, UK for Inclusive Museums conference (15 - 17 Sept). Do let me know if you are in any of these places and are up for a catch-up! Many thanks.
