Hi,
I run an internal wiki which is protected with
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['read'] = false;
$wgWhitelistRead = array (Special:Userlogin, MediaWiki:Common.css,
MediaWiki:Common.js, MediaWiki:Monobook.css,
MediaWiki:Monobook.js, -);
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false;
If I were you I would try the development version of
UsabilityExtension. If it works flawlessly I wouldn't upgrade
mediawiki so far. Of course if it doesn't work with 1.15 yet you can
look at the manual [1] how to upgrade your version to the latest
1.16.0

I updated our wiki from 1.6.8 to 1.16.0 and I'm finding that the main login

page by going to Special Pages in the side menu and selecting the login
link from there. The bad link looks like this:

Are you talking about sharing the article on the social networks?
Or do you mean creating something like a facebook page that pulls in
content from your wiki? I've seen that done with Content Management

You may try to import the file in MySQL and use
the update script to update the database. Make a backup before you try this.

Hello all,
I wonder how popular the SemanticMediaWiki extension is for
members of this list. Are there other lists like this one that deal
with different extensions or uses of Mediawiki or enhancements to a
Mediawiki?
Anyway, I had a couple questions. I installed
I would only want to import a couple tables and any tables they
reference. For example, I'd want whatever table holds the reference to
the articles which might then link to a table that actually links to the
binary data source of the article. I don't want to break things again

Hello,
So, I have been learning and studying aspects of the Semantic
Web. I have created FOAF files. My questions ar... The foaf is an
rdf/xml file. How might a SemanticMediaWiki link to or incorporate that
information? Would you use that in any annotations?
Related to that,
Alright but you can't since the backup is
obviously in tar or zip format. So the only thing
you can do is either unzip the backup and copy
and paste from there or import the whole bunch
and import from the backup the tables you didn't want to be updated.

Hello all,
I added the Cite extension. However, on wikipedia there are ways
that you can use formatting that tells it to cite a book or cite

Afternoon all,
I've got a desire to embed a visio diagram into my wiki after saving the
diagram as a webpage.
How do I embed HTML into a wiki article?
Thanks,

No, I was missing that. So, I go there and it tells me how to use that
particular template. I have an idea from the next link how a template
works. However,
I looked at the source code on the second link and I might be missing
something. I guess I'll just have to test it out but the page itself
isn't so readable.
