on my 1985 300SD.

Does anyone know anything about the 126 (SEL body) with the 3.0 six in
it. I assume this is the same engine as the 124, but it is in a much
larger car. Are these cars under powered? I really like the 560SEL but
the mileage seems too low. Any thoughts on the 3.0 gasser engine?
Okay. boys...this vacuum pump deal is getting odd.
All the other failures I've ever experienced has had oil spewing into the
air cleaner housing. This failure is different.
The car will not shut off (I've checked the shutoff valve SAT...it holds
vacuum like mad). There is NO oil getting into
126 euros? great price, I just paid $400 usa for a set of 500E lamps
(new) from my dealer, special deal.
For the spare set I'm considering converting to HID by dropping in a
set of HID projectors and clear lens.

Books left for your vehicle. They used to give them away free for the
asking, then started charging $5. It's a small book (~5X8X3/4 thk) that
shows exploded views of all the parts in your MB - from interior pieces
The HID's take a few seconds to come up to full brightness. Mercedes
accommodates this delay by using them for the low beams and using
standard xenon's for the high beams and the HID's stay on when you
switch to high beams - or else everything would go dark for a few

Having owned a 89 300TE I can say it suffered from hydraulic lifter
noise at 200K miles.
However to fix that it required new lifers and everything in the
valve train replaced because
the replacement lifters were harder metal and I was told it would
damage the camshaft.

flipped around or failed. One admits air in from the
brake booster, the other exits it out to the air
cleaner. Easy to test...if you don't mind a little
