Last week, my 190E clutch release bearing noise changed from a 'a bit
squeaky in the morning' to a full-blooded scream every time I changed gear
I suspected that the bearing had seized-up
Here's what my local MB dealer found when they changed the whole clutch -

My 190D had the same problem rust-wise. Muffler shops I contacted
weren't
interested in repairing, said it would be too expensive. Told me that a

keep the grease in until you get a chance to fix it? Sounds wierd but it
might work. Things like tape probably wouldn't work well as the sticky may

Once you remove the plastic roof moulding and rear speakers, IIRC, you'll
see that the headliner neatly hangs by a dowel or maybe one on each side.
Just slip it or them off their brackets and the rear 2' approx. of the
headliner drops down. You can then gain access to tackle the front end
