Mine's worn out. Big chunk out of it worn right down to the metal
armature on the left side where the top spoke intersects the wheel.
Right where I usually grab it.
I do have the ORIGINAL clock in my W140 tho, works great. Oh yes, the fuel
cap is the original too. :-)

Let us know if you find that aspirator fan in the SDL - and where it's
hiding. Mine is still alternating between full hot and full cold
instead of choosing a nice middle temp if the air temp indicates other
than full on of either hot or cold. If it's very hot, or very cold
outside, it does fine.

I could not get it to hold up the 1 inch square. I have not checked the
top end, because i found the compressor not working. I have never had this
style light switch panel apart, and i am afraid of breaking plastic if I
don't figure out how to take it off the right way. I will see if
Fenders bolt on/off rather easily. I had to back out the door hinge bolts
(and support the door) to get to the 3 fender bolts on the back side of the
fender. Keep track of what fastener was used where. There are 2 bolts
under the bottom trim, and I think it was 1 in front of the wheel and

Assuming that it's the same as a late-model 107, you need a
long-shanked Torx screwdriver to unhook the airbag from behind.
You probably need a real one not a bit
On mine, it's about a 15 second job to remove it.
First, I peel off the center pad with my finger tips (I recommend having the
steering wheel centered before starting). Then it's a hex wrench (I use a
3/8 inch drive) to remove the center screw. Next, I use both hands to smack

connections. Leave the door on. The fan is in a little holder behind the
right side of the glovebox. before you take it loose, turn the ign. switch

On the later style wheels(after 81) you dont remove the center pad, you
remove the emblem. If you remove the center pad, more than likely it
will rip when pulling off and not reinstall correctly.

you would see a substantial jump in mpg's even at 50/50 mix and I have never
heard that reported.
As far as the soot reduction, can't answer that..;.would be curious about

That might be a sticky monovalve or a weak coil. My SD did the same thing,
then it defaulted to full heat. Turns out the coil went bad. Got one from

All the control components are still suspect, including the klima relay.
Here is the update form today:
Jumped pins 5-7 in the klima relay socket, per Marshall. Compressor
works. Output air in vents only cooled to about 58 so I am guessing that
it is low on refrigerant also. I am thinking
