Just bid to win. You can take the key to a locksmith and have
duplicates made. Wouldnt be able to order one from the dealer without
proof of ownership of the car though.

No - at least they all have different part numbers.

Sure they will. Just don't be too polite!

Folks,
This is bit off topic compared to the recent posts about anything but
Benzes. This one IS mercedes related.
Anyway, 1982 300TD, last summer the R4 A/C compressor rattled for a
month or two then finally seized. Now it's hot enough to repair. I
plan on replacing compressor with a

I guess I had some advantages from reading about all of you taking it. I
couldn't do it yesterday as its blocked at work.
Anyhow I scored 28 which makes me 56% smarter than average...
That and $2 will get me coffee and a donut.

I obtained replacement vacuum diaphrams for the gas flap and trunk lock
vacuum elements for my 1976 450SL and these are the new style with the
threaded aluminum do-hickey molded in. The problem I have is that the
thread size of this aluminum do-hickey is larger than the threaded gas flap
plunger

Surprise - another on-topic post.
This car has been leaking fuel - you could smell it after driving it.
I sprayed everything clean to see where it was coming from, and
narrowed it down to the delivery valve seals on top of the injection
pump. Twice this last week the car was VERY hard to start
OK gang. I got a car puzzler.
My 1983 300TD has incessant, incurable max heat 24/7 regardless of
the settings. I swapped out the monovalve insert, monovalve assembly
and ACC push button module. No effect whatsoever. All fuses are
good. Blower works great - blows super hot air anytime!
I just found a 1993 124. The seller claims it has a 2.8 liter engine. I
have never heard of a 2.8 in any of the newer cars. I remember my old
250 had a 2.8 in it. What is the story? I am only asking because there
is a VERY nice 124 on ebay.

My 1987 420SEL AC is not working like it should. The pressures are correct,
but the air is not real cold coming out of the vents. I have evacuated and
recharged the system just to be sure there was not water in it. I have
replaced the compressor, dryer and expansion valve about 2 years ago and
Built one year for 1993. 194 hp and engine is the 104.940. This engine
was also used in the C class. Heard it is a great engine.
This model had alot of options that the 300E had as standard such as
metallic paint, power seats, etc.

Check the boost signal lines first -- they must be clear and hold
pressure, or the boost signal is late. Also check for free movement of
the wastegate control link on the turbo, if it's sticking, you will be
low on boost.
I would guess some of the rubber connections on the boost signal line
Very likely you have a bad expansion valve, or crud in the orifice.
The suction like should be quite cool, and be covered with condensation
when the system is operating.
You may also have considerable air in there.
You should also check the resistance of the evaporator temperature
sensor,
After a week of resounding silence, I'd guess I'm scrod.
