How do you open the case?
Isn't it one where you gently pry the sides out with a
small screwdriver or two to release the tabs snapped
into holes in the case, then slide out the guts?

Nope All of them I have seen have some kind of sealer (phenolic?)
around the bottom. the case has no snaps.

used it with autofrost or one of those. It says 134 and R12 so maybe
thats is why it didnt work.

Well when I got my sat they had a deal where you didnt have to pay for
the whole equipment up front, you paid something like $99 a month for
the first year(to pay off the equipment) then it dropped down to normal

Some cordless phones have a battery charger in the base to charge
a spare battery for the handset. These often will also power the
base station from this spare battery in the event the power's out.
