Was surprised how rudimentary the operation seemed. Started with a 10' long
aluminum rod of about 2 1/2 or 3 inch diameter.
After heating it up a lot, it went into a (2000 ton?) punch press.

They're a funny size, huge and at the time in the early 80s, were about
$3500 each. NOS is great for trim bits and fenders, but NOS tires are junk
unless the car is going under glass, and then, what would be the point of
owning it.
As for shows, guess it depends on the level of competition. I
