valve thats about 3x as expensive as the regular one... Another good reason to

flush valve. Not standard at all. not a flapper at all. I
finally took the tank off and replaced the whole flush valve. There
is no putty for a flush valve. just a hole in the bottom of the

I got that part, duh. I meant you can buy the whole fill
standpipe/flapper deal that fits into the tank drain hole, unless

The whole bathroom was pink. Well pink over purple, the ceiling is even tiled

It looks like the flapper pivot and the bolt that hold the tank to the throne
are the same bolt. I didn't realize the putty bit.
Still $12 to replace just the flapper sounds better than repositioning the
pivot.

The flush valve has nothing to do with the overflow or anything else, it sits
off on the other side of the tank.

No, you don't replace just the flapper. You replace the whole assembly,
flapper, seat, ball chain, and all. Just as shown in Mitch's

I forgot that part - the big hammer whack had no effect. We can't see/find
the lugs, or even the solenoid for that matter, from the top of engine
compartment. There's a lot of intake manifold and airfilter (NA) over it in
this car. Give me a turbo anyday!

You might be lucky and only have a dead solenoid or loose wire --
they are a bit exposed and it's not impossible that the starter wire
is loose.
