Yup, the spin-on filter.
But they don't actually spin on, they only look like they might.
They tighten down with the center bolt. If he's been spinning
them on maybe that's the problem?

INJECTOR PUMP PROBLEMS!
There is no need for sealant and if it gets past this filter it goes
straight to the injector pump. One tiny piece can cause more headache than
a fuel leak.

The W114 has a different radiator support, I think. Only the 2-door
was a six, all the rest are W115s.
