two of small appliance motor brushes.

I changed the oil today in the 1983 300TD, 334,000 miles. I opened the jug
of Rotella and to my shock it was jet BLACK and syrupy in consistency. As
I poured, there appeared to be heterogeneous chunks in the mix. WTF? I
called Sears and they guy said this was normal for a heavy duty diesel

I used to buy Rotella-T 15W-40 in 55 gallon barrels and transfer it to gallon
jugs. It was always clear and honey-colored.
I hope you didn't put that in your engine. I'm not buying what they told you.

You should go to Shell's web site and look at the MSDS. It will have a
description of the oil in its pristine state as shipped. That might help.
I hav never seen black oil of any kind when it was new, especially Rotella.
