This is very interesting. So the hose slides onto a pipe and is
secured by a ferrule?
Yes, the ferrule is just a permanent clamp that won't skin your
knuckles (in theory)
Take it off, replace the hose and put on a clamp. The fitting is all
that is important.

I do the same on some fuel hoses that are NLA... cut off the ferrule, clamp
on some new hose.

Haha. Cool category!
So what's on the menu this Saturday? I'm trying to convince Kari's landlord who

Is there anyone on the list who may know if the plastic headlight covers on a
2002 C320, which tend to degrade and fog up with age, are replaceable as I only
seem to be able to find the complete headlight assembly availables? TIA.

If thats a good battery (IIRC Exide are Johnson Controls so as good as
anything) thats an excellent price. I paid $125 2 years ago for the Group 47 in
my Jetta. That was at my local Car Quest and was $25-$50 less than Autozone and
Advance.

Mitch,
That looks like a great price. I think Wal-Mart sells a group 49 for about
$125.

Not really relevant to me this week. I have a bad battery in the 4matic but I'm
just going to use the 2003 Johnson/Autozone from the 300SD, but is this a good
deal?

My '84 190D had more repair than original pipe. I had already replaced the
section with the mufflers but the section from the manifold to the mufflers was
just tinfoil. When I started I'd wrap it with some thin metal and weld that on.
By the end I bought repair pieces from FLAPS and welded them

Check the repair shop forum on Benzworld. Might be something there, as it's
organized by geographical areas.
