I agree - it sounds like the filters/reflectors are similar to the dichroic
filters used in old style photo equipment, and they are very stable, so
that should not be an issue. However, as you pointed out, the tungsten
evaporation does need to be addressed - even tungsten halogen bulbs get
dark due

I had a 116 300SD for one weekend, a friend couldn't find a place to get it
aligned so I took it to my guy for him. It was hard to give it back...

Interesting, if true. IF true, does this mechanism degrade
with use/age as do the fluorescent materials in conventional
and compact fluorescents, and white LED's? If it doesn't
degrade as phosphors do, operational life could be much extended.

oil coming from the exhaust manifold.
