No - blindly following turn-by-turn directions is.
GPS is NOT at fault here!! My opinion.

Almost done.
White Whale is back together, new evaporator and re-used the vacuum pods from
Wilton's 300D. Vacuumed the AC system, then charged with dry CO2 at 120 psi as
a test.
I need more parts to finish: receiver / dryer, and foam tubes for the
condensate drain from the heater box.
So now they say GPS receivers are ruining our brains.

I posit these kids will have to learn from making mistakes The more
expensive the mistake, the more they will learn, eventually.
They "Know Everything", so let them go head over heels into it. Mount a
turbo, jack the boost to insane levels, make changes to the IP that exceed
common sense...
MB Diesel exh valves have been sodium cooled since at least 1959. My
200D is. 617 turbo probably has different valves in the different head
on top of the different short block.

Yup! Right now CNC programming, robotics etc and building trades
(includes operating engineers) kick the buts of probably 80-90% of
college degrees. CNC/robotics offer advancement paths beyond mastery by
working for mfgrs/integrators.

After four hours of effort over two days, heater box is out of the car (White
Whale).
If there are no issues, should have it back together this evening.

As well as replacing the exhaust valves with sodium cooled ones - which
requires new larger diameter guides.

Put another way, make it into a business case. Inputs: total cost of degree in
a chosen field, and average wage in that field. Compare colleges based on (a)
the percentage of students who are employed in their chosen field after
graduation, and (b) cost of the degree vs. average wage. What

And yes, I checked the EPC, and they show the crank jack. Hard telling how that

I noticed the crank jack for this car is different from later crank jacks as
the pin that goes in the jack point
I haven’t done one by myself but I’ve assisted, and it’s not that bad. You just
have to be meticulous and go through it one connector at a time, remove and
reconnect with the new one. Not a big deal, just time consuming.
