Apparently you are doing it yourself (my guess, from the
length of time it is taking).
Excellent!

I worked a deal over the phone with this guy, $450, I'll take a trailer
and load it up then we can sort out the title issue I guess. The fix
might be easy and relative cheap, or maybe more expensive. I guess I
could do some parts swapping from the 99 onto this one, see if I can get
it sorted
He can come get mine and y'all can sort out the transmission issue. I'm
going tomorrow to go look at this ML500 that won't start, guy is leaving
town for a coupla months on Thursday, I'll take $400 and a trailer and
hope he can get a title for me, somehow.

Got the correct valve installed, and after a week or so and a few hard
acceleration runs in third gear on steep hills, it seems to be working
properly. Still get some boost hesitation cold, but once it starts working
right it holds all the way to or from work.

You know, if the $1300 ML beater wasn’t such a, well, beater, I would agree.
After driving and working on my first W163, these appear to be pretty darned
robust vehicles, and I can see where they would be at home in an environment
like that.

Is this vehicle meant for use "out west" and instead of the Toyota pickup?
Getting closer is right, maybe he should buy your ML500 from you?

He now wants to find a facelift S210 4Matic wagon. There’s one in town for sale
right now, but I have concerns as it came fro NY and PA in 2016, which means it
just about got to have rust on it somewhere. However, in the ad it looks pretty

I have routinely solved the "exposed female fitting" issue by making a plug
from a male air fitting with an end cap teflon taped and screwed on. I
cross drill the screw on plug to accept a small cable which is then
attached to the female fitting via a loop, so the plug stays and doesn't
get lost.
