May or may not be relevant, but I had the ignition cylinder lock up on a Honda Odyssey. Sidewinder style key, wafers. Locked up solid without warning, between "Off/Locked" and "Accessory" positions. Could not turn either way or remove the key. Fortunately the steering column was not locked.

The guy wrapped a strap or two around the engine and dropped the steering subframe which I guess the engine mounts too, I wasn’t watching. Lowered the whole deal then unbolted the engine and whatever then lifted it up and out. Guy knew what he was doing, it would probably take me 3 days to do

On several Benz models it is nearly impossible to remove the transmission from the engine in the car. My brother's 75 W114 was like that, had two upper transmission bolts missing, you can get them out but not back in with the engine in the car. Less likely to drop the transmission of a jack
