Realize that the information you see in the RevParts web sites is taken
directly form the EPC as I understand it. As many terms, especially technical
ones, don’t translate well, you often get some weird terms that don’t make
sense or seem relevant to the part described.

But why do they call it a "conductor plate" and the covington site says it's a

Same part number. Says it’s remanufactured which would be fine if it has a
warranty. Probably one that had bad speed sensors or something and it was
repaired. You can buy those off eBay for $250 but maybe not warranty that would

Yes the FCP part says it needs programming. But it's also 3x the price of the
part MB Covington listed. Are they really the same thing?

The part is sourced from MB. Only way to get a new one. But it is “virgin “ and

That is a good deal, then you’d have to get it programmed. They might be able

Good point. However, MB of Covington does have a phone number and will talk to

And sadly, that is often the case. That or they create some sort of discount
construct where MBCA members get a 10% discount on parts, but what they don’t
tell you is that they mark up retail sales 15%. So you’re still paying 5% over

I totally understand this.
However, if you’re buying online, there are any number of RevParts dealers
(dealers who sell parts online) that sell with very good discount models making
OE parts pretty darned cheap, relatively speaking. And I’m addressing OE parts,
not OEM parts that you can buy

Very true.
When I was “restoring” the 65 220SEb I was constantly amazed at the parts I
could still get from Mercedes, and in most cases, how relatively inexpensive
they were. For instance, I could still get a lot of rubber parts, both seals
