A couple of questions:
1.) Are those current photos?
2.) What “ECU”?
If they’re talking about the engine computer, I would check with Floyd, but I
recall these being pretty cheap used. I haven’t dealt with W163s that deeply,
so I’m not sure if the ECU has to be version-coded, but even then

There’s a brand-new-looking one of these on MBM right now with no bids. I think
people are starting to figure out that these are Bad News for a lot of reasons.
I considered one for a replacement for Mrs. Dan’s former R129, but the more I
learned as I researched them the more I realized they
If it’s truly a 1963 190SL, you would be disappointed. Think 1950s British

Sold for $4,500. Not bad for the buyer, should hold its value at this point if
it is kept in good condition. The AMC 258 straight-six is a decent engine.

I would guess that a 2000 model year ECU would not be as "locked" to the
vehicle as a modern one? Maybe just needs a "reset" or "relearn" but definitely
something you'd need to look into before buying.

My father was a fairly loyal AMC buyer, had owned several Ramblers and almost
bought one of these (or maybe a Gremlin) at about that time. But Japanese

StarParts are a separate product line that Mercedes came up with to continue to
provide maintenance parts for older models. For example, if you go to a dealer
to buy an oil filter for a car with an M112, you can’t get an “official” MB
part - that’s a “gray box” part. You’ll get a StarPart
I'm not certain what exactly is wrong with it.

For somebody in a big city, like in China, it probably makes sense. Have a
service where you can essentially borrow a car any time you need without the
challenge of actually having to own/maintain/park it yourself.

The stuff on eBay is likely from a liquidator who bought up old inventory. I
buy it all the time. For instance, I buy cans of MB brake fluid, around
