nearly all the time they’re OK. I’ve never tried lubing them with anything, but
if I did, it would probably be graphite.

Slammed, would be interesting to see what is actually wrong with the
airmatic. Cheaper to fix the system than to do coilovers. Ask is way
too high, half that would be more reasonable considering the parts and
work to fix the suspension.

I don't know if this is similar to what we had in a 1998 F150 with the

started acting up and my mechanic son, who was driving it at the time,
repaired it. I think all that was wrong with it was that the plastic

You don't need a high vacuum to extract oil. Just need the pressure in the tank
to be lower than ambient air pressure. If

I had always thought it should, but I don't know. Be the first to find out!
Make sure your chosen reservoir can survive a substantial vacuum.

Read the instructions and go from there. The longer you can let the stuff soak
in under hot conditions, the better. When it’s done, you’ll be concerned
because the feel is weird. You can use the Prestine Clean to knock it down, or
just let it flash off, which it will do over time.

Here’s my take based on older models with what I believe to be the same feature:
Intake air flaps are used to “route” intake air from one source to another in
the intake. If they fail, air only comes from one source, which rarely has an
effect on operation, but may affect economy (think “cold”
I already had an industrial pressure/vacuum pump combo, meant to operate
pneumatic
medical machinery. I combined it with a metal kerosene can, round and with a
domed
bottom so it doesn't collapse under vacuum. That and a few fittings and some
tubing,
and the usual shop air hose, and I'm set.

The decent choices are not cheap, but if you go cheap you’ll be disappointed.
Cheap (<$100): Topsider. The classic vacuum pump oil sucker, it’s bulky and
kludgy to use, but simple. The crimped seams tend to leak if you store the oil
in it for very long.
Mid-priced (~$100): MityVac and Chinese
