LT Don, try this: a/c on, start in D (second gear) AND on a steep hill
(welcome to Pittsburgh, PA). You can time it with a calendar.
A bit slow off the line, especially if the air conditioner is going,
but fine after that. Cruises quite comfortably at 85 mph.
Yep, IYKWIM is what someone put in their signature line. Sort of like

Well, I am finally selling the 79 240D. Here are the particulars on it - Auto
trans, a/c, PS, PB, and that is about it. No sunroof or PW.
IIRC, you must first put a leak detector in the system and then you use
a UV light. The leak detector shows up very nicely once the UV light
hits it.

Recently changed the fuel filters and adjusted the throttle linkage.
Now
the car struggles to start following glow unless I give it a little
